Joey & Maria’s Comedy Italian Wedding, as reported on a few weeks back, will be returning to the San Diego Gaslamp Quarter in just a few short weeks, but in a bigger, more historic venue.

Historic for a couple of reasons: 1) This “new” venue is actually where “Joey & Maria’s” became an LIVE-entertainment staple and withstood 7+ years of unrivaled success and PR buzz,  2) the re-opening of this show at this newly renovated venue (across from Petco Park) marks the renovation of what Steven Picanza, Business Development Director for WM&E, calls the “rebirth of the arts’ district in San Diego”.

This is no overstatement.  Although this is the re-launch of one show, the venue allows for so much more — boasting two warehouse-sized rooms, plus the dinner-theatre section seperated by a freshly drywalled barrier.

The new venue has been known as the Culy Warehouse since the 70′s, and now as we inch closer on a daily basis to 2010, that name will remain.

Nearly 40 years later, the Culy Warehouse returns with the fiery passion that ignites many art districts in a typical metropolitan setting.  The stage is set.

Joey & Maria’s Comedy Italian Wedding returns to the Culy Warehouse Saturday, August 22nd, 2009.
